Hruska's family here. Immigrated about 1887. Frantisek, Bohumil, Kristina and Frances from Bohemia. Any conections, I would love to compare notes.

Re: SLEPICKA and HRUSKA and PEAR
My grandmother, Anna Hruskova (daughter of Martin and Anna Hruska) married my grandfather, Matej (also known as Michael Chicken) Slepicka in 1879 in Chicago. I believe they were in the US by 1869-70. The family also used Pear (and feminine, Peary) as Americanizations (translations) of their family name. Michael and Anna lived in Minneapolis from about 1880-81 until their deaths. Nine children were born in Minneapolis, among them my father, Fred Chicken. By then most of the family was using the Americanized version of Slepica (no "k") instead of Slepicka.

Re: SLEPICKA and HRUSKA and PEAR
Not on my tree. At least not Slepicka or Pear. I don't have enough info to check back on my great-great grandfather or his father yet. The original Hruska's to come over. Possible that your first immigrants and my first immigrants were brothers or something. If I find something out I will let you know.
