According to what I have so far (mostly from the 1900 census basically), Daniel Moriar<i>ty was born Dec 25 1827(or there bouts) in Ireland. He came over in 1864 and was naturalized. I think?? he might have come through Canada. In the 1870 and 1900 census, he was still in Michigan. I have 11-19-1921 as a date of death in Deer Lodge Montana.
One of his daughters (assuming he had more than 1), Mary married Michael Murphy. That line ended up in Montana.
Any clue as to where he might have come into America or where I could start in finding where he was naturalized?
Thanks!!

Daniel lived in Houghton County (upper Michigan) from about 1864 to 1905. Our understanding is that he applied for citizenship on November 6, 1899.

One of his Daughters, Honora, married Joseph Robinson in Houghton January 16, 1900. They moved to Cudahy Wisconson. Honora ("Nora") was my grandmother. We do have some information about Daniel. Nora was the daughter of Daniel's second wife, Margret Crowley. Our records show Daniel had 5 children by his first wife, Nora Sullivan and 7 children by his second wife Margaret.

We would be interested in sharing information.

I am Daniel Moriarty's great great grand daughter. His daughter Kate Moriarty is my great grandmother. She married John Harrington. Their son Daniel (Edward) Harrington is my grandfather and his son John is my father.
Daniel was born on December 25th 1824 and passed away on Nov. 19th 1921. He was living with his daughter Kate when he passed away. Kate was born in 1866 in Eagle Harbor, Keweenaw, Michigan and she passed away in Anaconda MT in 1953. I have both on my family tree if you would like any more info. What I show is he arrived in 1863 and was living in Calumet Houghton MI in 1870.
