Acadian - Metis?

I'm looking for any possible First Nations bloodline from when my family first came to Acadia in the early 1600s.

From my understanding there is a lot on this topic regarding Antoine Bourg-Antoinette Landry. I have that they both emigrated from France, but sites elsewhere list it as a Metis name. If anyone could offer 100% clarification on this, that would be awesome.

Other names in question: Jacques Botquin, Marie Dugas, Marie Anne Pigeon (?), Rosalie Benoit, Marie Martin Pellerin, Charlotte Barie, Jean Baptiste Neveu

Regions: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec

Check into the name variations and perform specific searches with those variations.

There are several variations of the names you have listed and I know there is a few of those variations on the US Indian Rolls. Check the Indian Rolls for those names and I'm betting you'll find a relative somewhere.

Canada has a lot of documentation and it can become overwhelming looking through it all to find specifically what you are looking for. Keep a journal of your findings with websites noted as well. This will help.

Good luck,
Aubrey
