Does anyone have an idea what the proper Lithuanian name for Idacavage? We have been told that it probably ends in aviciius, but the rest is not even close to any names that we have found. Thanks.

Edit: Could it be Vaidakavičius/Vatkevičius?

Thanks for your reply. Idacavage is the name that was used in the USA. We assume it was changed some time during the immigration process since it is not a true Lithuanian family name. We never saw the Vaidakavičius/Vatkevičius names before. I can now try searching those names thanks to your new information.

Well, it's just a guess, it could be something different (thats why I've inquired about your pronunciation).
I have checked Lithuania's Surnames Dictionary:
Aidukavičius - Ai (like I) duk (like dook)/ av (like av(enue)/ ič (like itch)/ -ius(like name (Dar)ius)
Eidukevičius - Ei (like Ey! or a(te))/ duk (like dook)/ ev (like ehv)/
There were more of such surnames.

As you can see, lithuanian-english vowel pronunciatio/spelling is rather different.
