My paternal grandmother was Elodie Sinitiere, daughter of Caliste Sinitiere and Caroline Dumesniel Sinitiere. Elodie claimed to be half spanish, but when I asked her which was the spanish she said it was the Dumesniel. Elodie married Paul Legnon. I have been successful in finding Caliste Sinitiere on old census records. He and Caroline had four children. Elodie, Laodice, Clement and Clemence. Laodice and Clement were sons, Elodie and Clemence were daughters. Elodie moved to New Orleans sometime in the early 1900's and lived there until her death in 1968. Clemence lived out her life in New Iberia, she was married six times and her last husband was Rene Thibodaux. The brothers, Clement and Laodice moved to the Port Arthur, Tx area. Laodice has one son named Lawless Sinitiere who was executed for murder. Clement had one natural daughter, Selina and one adopted daughter, Grace. I know that Grace married a man whose last name was Allen and she had one daughter that she named Selina, after her sister.

Like you, I would love to know more about the family.

I can't believe I found a cousin. Mim Myers was my grandmother. Elodie's sister from New Iberia. Where are your sisters? Let me know.
