I am doing a project on Italian non-verbal communication methods and I am in desperate need of someone who could help me! I need to know about the time system in Italy. Are they a past-oriented culture where they emphasize tradition and the wisdom of their elders, or a present-oriented culture living in the here and now, or future where they believe that another moment in the future is most important?
Also I need to know about their vocalics. Do they change their pitch from high to low within a conversation? Do they talk fast or slow? Is the conversational rythem smooth or staccato? Loud or quiet? Are there any words that change meaning if you use them in a different tone or pitch?
If anyone can help me with this information I would greatly appreciate it!
