Could This Name Be Of ITALIAN Origin?

Surnames: Decker
Does anyone here know what the origin of the name Anna Rosina Decker would be? I have heard both Columbian and German, and now possibly Italian! Vastly different, I know. The woman in question was slightly dark-skinned and had extremely dark hair, possibly indicative of some Latin or Italian heritage of some sort, as is the name Anna Rosina. I may be WAY off here, and I apologize if I am, but if anyone could help me out here it would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

but the lastname Decker is of sure german!
and Rosina is definitly not "only italian",it´s of latin orgin and also since 16th century usual in Germany, specially in Würrtemberg and Sachsen. after end of 19th century it was not longer a ususal name in Germany.
so in fact the name Anna Rosina Decker looks sounds very german.
"Allerdings war er bereits ab dem 16. Jahrhundert in Deutschland, insbesondere in Württemberg und Sachsen, stark verbreitet."

The origin of a name does not equal the origin of a person. Her parents could have named her Anna Rosina simply because they liked the name.

I agree with Mohnbauer. Anna is very common in Germany, Rosina is not at all UNcommon, and Decker is DEFINITELY German.

There's no way to tell ethnicity by someone's given name. Just no way. I think you can be almost positive Anna Rosina was NOT Italian.

Both names Anna & Rosina are Most DEFINITELY Italian! Columbian - or any Hispanic name - would have "ita" @ the end... Italian names & diminutives have ina/ino or etta/etto (ex: Antonietta, etc.). I am of Italian origins & have lived there for 15 yrs. I also went to school there while on my stay & I teach both Italian & Spanish. Hope this sheds some light on your doubts. However, "Decker" is obviously Not an Italian name... Italian names always end in a vowel & there is no letter j, k, w, x, nor y in the Italian alphabet. Good luck with your research.
