Surnames: CHATFIELD
It appears that there are a few Aboriginal Chatfields around Australia. I am wondering how the link started as the name originates back to England. It can be traced to the 1500/s. I am aware of ancestors who migrated to Australia in the mid to late 1800's. I am a Chatfield and keen to explore any links.

It is belived he then married Susan Slater an aboriginal and they had at least 6 children. They lived in the Denison Town, NSW, Australia area and drifted to Coonabarabran and eventually Burra Bee Dee Mission Station. There are very many Chatfield descendants. More info on my web site.
