Are you still looking? It's worth mentioning Peter's parents names within this thread (even though you have them) because these should show up (or might) on a death record or marriage record - thus helping researchers to make a firm identification of Peter. His father is Carl Claudius Severin b 1841 Nakskov and mother is Martine Jensen b 1845 in Nakskov.

What is your source for saying Peter Severin died before 13 December 1915? Since you have so much excellent information about him, I would think that eventually you'll find him.

His grandfather was a skipper - a seaman:

1860
Maribo, Lollands Nørre, Nakskov Købstad, Westre Fjerding, Strandgaden 336. Forhuuset, 471, FT-1860, C7467
Peter Christian Severin 48 Gift Skipper og Eier Kjøbenhavn
Johanne Marie Severin 40 Gift hans Kone Branderslev Sogn, Maribo Amt
Carl Claudius Severin 19 Ugift Deres Søn Nakskov <---------------------father of your Peter
Johannes Alfred Hansen 16 Ugift Konens Søn Nakskov
Margrethe Sophie Severin 12 Ugift Deres Datter Nakskov
Mitta Frederikke Severin 9 Ugift Deres Datter Nakskov
Marie Hansine Severin 6 Ugift Deres Datter Nakskov
Peter Svendsen Severin 1 Ugift Deres Søn Nakskov

Your Peter is not with the family in 1880. They were living in the town of Nakskov Købstad, Lollands Nørre herred, Maribo amt, Denmark. His father was also a skipper.

1880
Maribo, Lollands Nørre, Nakskov Købstad, Nakskov Købstad, Lolland nørre herred, Kongenstofte 173, 1, FT-1880, C9884

Jes Jensen Severin 5 Ugift deres barn Her i Sognet
Elna Benthea Severin 2 Ugift deres barn Her i Sognet
Udøbt Drengebarn 1 Ugift deres barn Her i Sognet (=boy baby not named yet)

It's also useful to know the siblings above; if any came to the USA, Peter Christian Johannes Severin might be near them. The parents were still in Denmark in 1901.

1901
Maribo, Lollands Nørre, Nakskov Købstad, Kongenstofte 10, 173, 72 F1, FT-1901, C3844
Carl Claudius Severin 01-10-1841 Gift Husfader Formand paa Muddermaskine Nakskov
Martine Severin 23-01-1845 Gift Husmoder Nakskov
Kommentarer: Ejer: Skipper C. C. Severin

Since Peter came from a seafaring family, he might have been a sailor also. He might have arrived on American shores as a crewman on a ship and thus would not appear in regular passenger manifests. If he was a passenger on a ship, one would think he would appear in the Copenhagen emigrant registry, rather than a Hamburg list - just a guess. The registry is here (I haven't found him in this database as of yet):
www.emiarch.dk

It was rather common for Danes to be called by their middle name. Peter Christian Johannes Severin could be called Peter, Pete, Christian, Christ, Chris, John, or appear in records with his initials: PC, PJ, CJ, CC, PCC, PCJ, CCJ, He could be XX first name + Carlsen + Severin.

Severin alternate spellings including Severen and Severein (both found in Iowa cemetery records on Iowa GenWeb). Not info you need but it's helpful to include alternate names and spellings to aid volunteer researchers.

Do you know which name was this person's "calling name" or have documentation that he used the surname Severin?

As for his surname, I would think he's using the surname Severin, but it's possible he chose his patronymic of Carlsen. Have you found him in an American record as Severin?

Do you know whether any of his siblings immigrated to the USA, and if so, what information do you have about them?

There are Severins in Long Grove, Scott, Iowa, but this Severin name originates in Germany, (per a combination of census records and memorials on Find a Grave).

His wife could be Native American ... in addition to tribes thought of as "native" to Iowa, Cherokee people were living there circa late 1800s.

What makes you say he is in Webster City, Hamilton county, Iowa, in about 1900?

Danish naming tradition would be for PCJ Severin to name his first-born son after his father and first-born daughter after his mother. Not all families followed this pattern. However since Peter's father was "Carl Claudius," this man is of interest:

Claude L. Severin, Cedar Falls, Iowa [there's more than one Cedar Falls, one is in Black Hawk county, Iowa]
mentioned in the Iowa City Citizen, Iowa City, Johnson county, Iowa
May 1, 1917
enlisting for service in World War I
Claude as listed on Find a Grave, born in Black Hawk county Iowa, wife is Susan Helen Ross:

I'm back with an update:
an Ancestry.com family tree says this about the family:
Peter Christian Severin 1864 - tree says he died 1900 in USA (not sourced)
Louise Wilhelma Severin 1866-1935 died in Nakskov
Hans Frederik Severin 1870-1900 died in Nakskov
Charles Martinus Severin 1872-1953 died in Ønslev, Denmark
Jes Jensen Severin 1874-1952 died in Nakskov
Elna Benthea Severin 1877 - died unknown
Carl Claudius Severin (junior) 1879-1956 died in Nakskov
Sophie Frederikke Severin 1884-1900 died in Nakskov
Edith Margrethe Severin 1886-1887 died as a baby in Nakskov
** information from the family tree; I haven't looked up these records. "Died 1900" can actually be a date of "AFTER 1900."
