Time has passed since your question . . . but I've entered more people in my tree since I got the Familienbuch from Mezobereny. Johann Adam Pangert is my 3rd cousin, 3 times removed--and he was married to Juliana Wolf who was the daughter of Johann Michael Wolf and Susanna Vogel. If you'd like more info, contact me at rhughes5@rochester.rr.com.

Rose Mary

Thank You Nancy,
Yes it was near Centerline, in what was the Village of Vandyke (now part of Warren). Roths Barn became the Carpathian Club then moved to Sterling Heights, MI. The building on Vandyke has since been torn down, including Roths Home. I remember it very well, the House later became a boarding house. I wish I would had taken photo's of them, in my youth.........
Thank You Again.
Best regards
Kurt

I am looking for the following information for my family. Any suggestions on how to go about finding this information would be greatly appreciated.

Tiskalmanfalu, Serbia
1. Birth Record Birth Record for Franz Grasz born May 17, 1895 in Tiskalmanfalu (Waldneudorf) Serbia.

*I have the birth record for Gyorgy Grasz born January 13, 1893 in Tiskalmanfalu (spelling?) which is from a Lutheran Church. I have attached a copy of the record. Would like to know which parish this is from.

2. Marriage Certificate for Gyorgy Grasz and Ersebet Koszt around 1889 possibly in Tiskalmanfalu (Waldneudorf), Serbia

3. Birth Record for Elizabeth Koszt around 1870 possibly in Tiskalmanfalu

4. Birth Records for 9 other children born to Gyorgy Grasz and Ersebet Koszt in 1894, and between 1896 and 1908.

When Elizabeth was alive she said that she had 12 children, 9 of which died along with her husband, Gyorgy Grasz, when she was pregnant with my grandfather, Emil who was born April 13, 1909 in Budapest. I would like to find the records of these children one of which may have been born in 1894, and the rest between 1896 and 1908. Some, if not all, may have been born in Tiskalmanfalu before they moved to Budapest.

Budapest, Hungary

5. Death record for Gyorgy Grasz between 1908 and 1909 in Budapest.

Pivnicza, Hungary or Pivnice, Serbia

6. Janos Szabo born April 28, 1894 in Pivnicza, Hungary which is now Pivnice, Serbia. Interested in finding out who his parents were and where they were born.

Doroszlo, Hungary

7. Eva Langanecker(not sure of exact spelling) born July 22, 1897 in Doroszlo, Hungary. Interested in finding out who her parents were and where they were born.

Jarek or Backi Jarak, Serbia

8. Michael Bloser born October 16, 1889 in Jarek.

8. Jacob Fix (spelling may vary) born about 1855 in Jarek, Yugoslavia. Interested in finding out who his parents were and if he had any siblings.

9. Jacob Fix married Margarita around 1876/77 most likely in Jarek since Margarita was born there also.

Sajkasszentivan,

10. Katalin Fix born about 1885

Thank you!

Claire Evans
s/v Second Wind
Roatan, Honduras

My grandparents also immigrated to Sharon, PA and I currently reside there. The ship manifest states that my ancestors came from N. Pogna, Hungary. Our family name is Young--listed as JUNG on the manifest. I would like to find the village they came from I'm assuming it was Neu-Pasua. Good luck with your search.
Karen

I'm in the process of completing my family tree. It is my hope to find people who descended from some of the same ancestors as me.

The following names are on my family tree. All were Danube-schwabian germans from the town Nova Pazova (neu pasua). Also if anyone has any suggestions for researching the Will surname i'd appreciate it - search engines include every single site that some has used the verb "will" and most genealogy specific websites have "will" as one of their automatically excluded terms.

Friedrich Will (b 1879) and Katharina Guska/Juska (b 1885)
*both immigrated to Sharon, PA.

Michael Will(b. 1852) and Elisabetha Popp (B. 1853)

Fridericus Will (1830-1890) and Maria Elisabetha Lederer (1830-1892)

Petrus Will (1799-1849) and Rosina Ellenberger

Philippus Will (1764 - 1807) and Maria Elisabetha Heintz Hofman (1867-1907)

Other family tree surnames that aren't part of my direct line:

Abrell.......Altorfer.....Ardt
Banzhaf......Bauer........Binder
Bittelbach...Bomler.......Brod
Buszmann.....Copp.........Dech
Flohr........Gleich.......Graf
Haller.......Heyse........Holp
Huber........Kailer.......Keck
Kendel.......Klaus........Kranzler
Kumpf........Lebherz......Leibensberger
Lemmer.......Muller.......Reck
Ruchbauch....Schafer......Schempf
Schiller.....Schleicher...Schveitzer
Shafer.......Urschel......Vagman
Weber........Yentz

Semlak has a book of church records that you can get from their website - just e-mail the president of the committee/board at www.semlak.de, I believe. I'm currently at the wrong computer to upload it. But if someone is interested, please let me know and I can pass it on. (I MAY have lost it - I've been through several computers since then. But I'm pretty sure I have it. Just needed to put in that disclaimer.)

Lori

Looks like Schaare's came from Northern Germany above Franconia

Both of you might try
the Surname site............
http://christoph.stoepel.net/geogen/en/Default.aspx

Then try the appropriate State Mailing list or Board in Germany (177 of them) and post there.

German Telephone book
http://www3.dastelefonbuch.de/?la=en&cx=&cy=&sp=...

Jacob and Sophie had a number of children, who also had numerous children, ancestors of my father Eric Francis Schaare.
Are you researching family roots of ethnic German background?

To anyone researching their family roots of ethnic German background in former Austria-Hungary territories, consider the Danube Swabian / Donauschwaben. I invite you to check out the Donauschwaben Villages' Helping Hands (DVHH) Project http://www.dvhh.org, a volunteer project for researchers of Danube Swabian Heritage. We are celebrating our 4th year online, providing a wealth of information for you to utilize.

We also have a worldwide mailing list "DONAUSCHWABEN-VILLAGES-L"

Topic: (DVHH) is a bilingual English-German mailing list for anyone with an interest in the former Danube Swabian (ethnic German) villages situated in the six regions which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918: Banat, Batschka, Hungarian Highlands, Sathmar, Swabian Turkey, Syrmia & Slavonia. (these regions are today in parts of Hungary, Romania, Croatia and Yugoslavia (Serbia).

We help researchers discover their Danube Swabian ancestral roots, history, environs, culture and lifestyle. We encourage our list members to ask questions and share discoveries. If you are new at researching, you will learn quite a bit about your heritage on our list. And we may learn something new from you.

This mail list is associated with the DVHH online project. Read more about joining our mail list:
http://www.dvhh.org/glance/mail-list.htm

Happy Hunting,
Jody McKim
ps: I only understand English
