The first name "eliphalet" has been in my mother's side of the family for at least 6 generations. Our first records show Eliphalet Hunter as a young man in Loudon County, Virgina around 1775-1792?, with a male relative named Thomas and his mother's name was Mrs. Issiah Hunter. Eliphalet Hunter turns up in Nelson County, Ky around 1800 and continues thru the present day with our Hunter part of the family still in Central Ky. today. In the late 1850's a Sanford Hunter moved from Central Ky. to Owensboro, Ky. where his desendants still live today.
