Hi Betty,
Could you give us an idea of the time period you are talking? My husband has Castro and Rodriguez ancestors but I do not recognize your names. If I knew the time period I may be able to do some searching.

Benjamin Rodriquez married Carmela Castro in Santa Cruz, Co in 1857. children are Steven, Trinidad,John, Flora Marie,Antonio, Rita, Rosa, Steven died in 1892 of Typhoid Pneumonia. his death certificate list his occupation as engineer. There is a George Rodriquez always with the familty but i don't know if he is a brother or what. Rosa was born in 1865 and married Charles Locetelli in 1888. I think Carmella's father's name is Ricardo Castro. That is about all i know any helps appreciated.

Lots of luck Betty. You are going to need it. In a
E-mail, Betty came up with the name Philadelphio Rodriguez who married Elizabeth Howell.. Philadelphio 1857-? is the son of Facundo Rodriguez and Maria Guadalupe Robles. Facundo Rodriguez, 1815-1884, was the son of Alejandro Rodriguez and he was the son of Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Maria Trinidad Vicenta de Leon. For some reason Betty's dates don't quite match. I have heard that some of the Indian families in the area took the names of the early Spanish settlers in the Watsonville area. I think the 1880 census for Santa Cruz County needs to be searched. I have tons of Rodriguez info. because I am related to them, but I just can't line this family out yet. I think I'm on the right tract. If you find more let me know..

Isn't genealogy wonderful? Ten years ago these posts were written and now there is a connection to my husband's family.
Here, briefly, is what I have:
Alexandro Rodriguez + Maria Concepcion and had
Facundo Primitivo Rodriguez b 22 Nov 1815 + Maria Guadelupe
Concepcion Rodriguez + Matias Loranzana and had
Marianna Loranazana + Pitera and had
Angie Ellen Pitera + Melbourne G Slade,I(my husband's grandfather)
Does anything look familiar?

HELLO,

And your husband comes from Alexandro to Facundo where I come from Alexandro to BuenaVentura the youngest child of Alexandro. Where do you guys live? I'm still here in the home town of Santa Cruz. Boy there sure are some stories of Facundo. Facinating reading and fun to be living here and explore all the history.

Thanks,
Penny

Hi Penny,
My husband's line here is only by marriage, no direct bloodline. I was hoping you may be another cousin of his through Angie Pitera. He has always said he was told of a Rodriguez line and I know he has a solid castro line as well as Espinosa, Higuera, Pacheco, Soto, Buelna, Garcia, Peralta,
etc. Hope you and yours had a joyous Easter.
