Re: Can anyone read Bohemian - Help please
There is no such language as "Bohemian" although the word "Boehmisch" was sometimes used colloquially by German speakers for Czech speakers from Bohemia, or German speakers with strong local accents. People in Bohemia, part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1919, now in the Czech Republic, would have spoken either German or Czech. Perhaps the best idea would be to scan the notice into a message and then whichever language it is, it is likely someone could read it for you.

Re: Can anyone read Bohemian - Help please
I am a complete tyro about things like scanning but perhaps someone else could advise you. Usually these things enlarge when they are clicked but this remains the same size and is too small to read - for me anyway. Would at least be able to tell you which language it is and translate if it is German. Hope someone can aid you with the technical side.

Re: Can anyone read Bohemian - Help please
Thank you for your message. I am not able to enlarge the picture so far but I am trying to find a way to do so. The language is not German though.

It is possibly in Czech. Did you get it translated?

Yes thank you. Now I'm trying to find out if there is any such name or like name as Safo. That seems to be the surname for my husband's grandfather - Joannis Safo - he married Elizabeth Viduna.
