Surnames: Turek
I have also married into the Turek family, and have been trying to find links to my husband's side of the family. We know that his father Donald George Turek died in 1997 and have been trying to find his mother who both are from Chicago,Illinois. If anyone has anything on the Turek family from Bohemia, please email me at kturek@bigpond.net.au.

Surnames: Turek, Skala
Vera & Jackie!

We have pretty much the same information. I'd like to connect and see how exactly the puzzle pieces fit together. I have a good guess but I'd like to know if I have it about right.

My grandmother, Mildred Ann Turek Skala, passed in March 2011 and I've been trying to complete what I can to extend the information to my aunts and uncles and my mother. I can tell you she was born in Hemingsford, NE if that helps any and she was the last of her siblings.

I look forward to hearing back from you or others that have the same family story that's been passed down!

Valarie,
My Great Grandparents, Frantisek and Josepha (Pesek) Prochaska were also from Nova Ves U Chotebor and settled in Box Butte County, NE for several years before moving to ND. I've seen the Turek name on quite a few documents that I've looked at and have wondered if maybe there was a connection. Have you had any luck finding birth or marriage documents in Nova Ves? Frank and Josephine were Catholic, and there's a Catholic Church in Nova Ves, but I've not contacted them yet and frankly don't know if that's the best route to go. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kevin Mack
