I would like to know the Arberesh surnames. I mean, I know of some in my heritage, but what were they originally, before they Italianized them?
TY,
Lisa
Such as: Matranga, Geraci, Guidera, etc.

Earlier in my research I would have quickly dumped a list of surnames. After many years of research I feel comfortable only sharing my own. In my case though, once I located the village name, based on phonetic spelling combinations from a 70 year old uncle recollection who only heard the name spoken once when he was less than 10 years old. Anyway, my surname example...
Majerà (original Arberesh used from about 1560-1900) Maiera (modern Italianization after 1900) Maiara (American immigration error 1880)
The village is Cervicati, Calabria. Today a good deal of the original descendants are still in that same area. Other family surnames: Barci, Dardis, Rebecco, Petrone, Ippolito, Posterivo, Gramano, Travalo, Aquino, Monfa, Ponti
