There is a family story that
Sylvester Hard, of Perry Township,
Franklin County,
Ohio, paid someone to serve in his place in the Civil War so he could stay home and operate an Underground RR stop. His home was on
Bethel Road, now part of
Columbus, OH. Does anyone have any documentation of this?
