Charles served in Company A 24th Regiment USCT. His Pension Application card is on Ancestry and also shows that his wife applied for a widow's pension after he died. If you can get the pension file, its worth its weight in genealogy gold! I hired a researcher to copy one for me and it was well worth it for the info I received.
