Richard Howard b.1832

Richard Howard was born in North Carolina in 1832. In 1862 he was in or near Springfield, Missouri. In the 1900 census he was living in Cherokee Territory in Indian Territory. He was 68 years old. His wife was "Fanny". Does anyone know what happened to him? Please contact me if you know anything about him. Brian

I am trying to find any information on Hortense Morris who married Jessie Jones (of Oklahoma). They had three children: Neosia Morris (b. 1926), Genevieve Morris (b. 1929) and Hortense Louis Morris, Jr (b. 1932).

I beleive that Hortense Jr. married a woman named Juanita Daivs and they had three children (possibly named Fitzgerald, Raydale and Gwendolyn).

I am trying to find information for my husband and children so they may find out about their Morris heritage and maybe find living Morris relatives.

Would those children be: Johnathan, age 17; Louis, age 15; Josephine, age 11; Mattie, age 9; Louisa, age 8; and Lucy, age 7? Two other sons are in the household, ______ and Emmory Wilson.

Wellington and Marie (Mary) is on page 17 under a ink spill! Have you seen the Dawes application for Josephine, Mattie, Louisa, and Lucy? It appears Wellinton was a COLBERT. I can e-mail the applications to you if interested.

Do not assume everything you find on Public Trees are valid. Lots of folks simply play the copy-cat game instead of verifying their sources. Ask the Tree Owner for their source.

I am looking for Mittie William's biological mother. Mittie Williams is the first of possibly three daughters born to Robert A Williams. She was born in North Carolina in 1881 and has a sister, Mary, born in 1885. According to what I've been told by family, Robert had three daughters by an unknown woman before marrying Cora Eaves in 1888.

I am also looking for information on my great-grandfather, Otis Ray. He was born on 20 Jan 1916 to Sam Ray and Ella Robinson in Wewoka, OK. After his parents went separate ways, he and his siblings, Lonzo and Oree, were raised by their paternal grandmother. If you have any information regarding either of these, please contact me.

I am searching for any information on John (b. abt 1882 in MS) and Rinda (b. abt 1894 in MS). I found them on the Mounds, Creek, Oklahoma census for 1920 but that's the only documentation that I could find to prove that they existed. My grandfather was the baby of he guessed about 12 kids; he didn't know all of his siblings. He said that the KKK ran him and his family off of their land there and that's how they ended up in Missouri. The census doesn't show my grandfather Henry Matthew as he was not born yet.

Frazier School - Stillwater

Looking for information on the Frazier School that was located in Stillwater, Payne County, OK. I'm told this school was built by Charlie Frazier in the early 1900s since there were no schools for African Americans. I am searching for information about the Talberts or decendants for the following Talberts, Charlie, Odessa, John H, Jr. and John H Sr. Beacerly, Willie, Mellalieu, Josiee. John H. Talbert Sr. was married to Mary Talbert in the 1850's. Charlie Talbert was born in Ark around 1898 and died in Mississippi in 1983. Odessa was married to someone by the last name of Pigford in Tulsa, OK. She passed away in 1977. Odessa was a teacher in the Tulsa school system. John Henry Talbert,Jr. moved to California around the 1940's along with his brother Edward Talbert. JH passed away around the mid 1980's. Edward Sr. passed away in 1950 after he learned of his son's death in the Korean War. That is almost all of the information that I have at this time but if you are a decendant, please contact me.

Henry O. Mariott, Boley, Oklahoma

I am seeking any information about Henry O. Mariott (African-American) and his wife, Alice Mariott, who were listed in the 1930 Boley, Okfuskee Co., Oklahoma census.

Henry, born abt. 1893, was listed as being the secretary of the Boley Chamber of Commerce in September 1934. Prior to that, he was a Regimental Sergeant-Major in the 805th Pioneer Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Alice Mariott was an English Teacher during that same time period.

In the 1920 Boley census, Henry was listed with David W. Mariott, born abt. 1862, and Cordelia Mariott, born abt. 1872. There was also a John T. Mariott, born abt. 1894.

I am trying to find out if this is the same family as David, Cordelia, Henry O., and John T. Mayott who were in the 1900 Rhea Co., TN census. In that census, the dates of birth are almost identical. I know that the Mayott/Mariott surnames were both used by my family members in Rhea Co.

Another similarity is that in 1910 Boley, there are also a John and Angeline Marriott, along with David and family. My g-g-grandfather, John Mayott, and his wife Angline, were in 1900 Rhea Co., TN, too. John's daughter, Mariah Mayott Thompson, was my great-grandmother.

Any information about the Mariott family of Boley and their possible link to Tennessee would be greatly appreciated.

Since four of Alfred Lemon and Madie's children were born in Arkansas, I checked the 1900 Arkansas census for Madie and Alfred's families, before their marriage. And I found them!

In this Arkansas census, Maggie states that they have been married 23 years (1877) and have eight children, eight still alive. In the Mississippi marriage records, I found a possible marriage for Madie's parents:

10 August 1877, Carroll County, MS, Daniel BURT and Maggie WADLINGTON

In the 1910 and 1920 censuses Madie and Leman/Laymon/Lemon WEAVER/WEVER move to Luther, Oklahoma County, OK. and have at least eight children of their own:

San Antonia, 1913

Roach and Weaver Family

My grandparents were Leonard Roach and Santonia Weaver-Roach. Leonard's parents were Robert Roach and Mary Roach. Santonia's parents were Alfred Lemon Weaver and Madie Burt-Weaver. I haven't been able to find any information on Robert/Mary or Alfred/Madie's parents.
