Still searching for Jones slaves located in Craven county, NC. Believed to be owned by (Evan, Charles, Roger, James, John, Gideon, Fredrick and Abrigal, Lovett, Thomas )Jones.
The above mention own my family members -maybe as far as 1750.
(In a Will written by Lovett Jones in 1750-he had a slave named Somerset and left him to his son Charles).
(Somerset-probably a son was listed in a court doc between the Jones family in the court of Craven county in 1815-along with a large list of slaves:Thinking it was a probate will and they were dviding the slaves. These slaves were my family members and I want to find out what happened to them)
*I am having a real problem trying to find the slaves because they were moved around with their owners** But their owners were all Jones-Please help!

My great grandfather was Joseph C. Jones from Craven County, born about 1885. I have no further information on him but am looking for his relatives. He married Dessie Collins and they lived in New Bern, N.C.

I wonder if my Jones family is related to your Jones family. I have not been able to go far with this branch of my family but my great grandfather was Joseph C. Jones from New Bern,Craven County. He was born around 1885. He worked as a railway postal clerk. He had siblings that were much older than him but I don't know their names.
