I am related to a Price family that used to live in the Lewis County, Missouri / Adams County, Illinois area in the 1800-early 1900's.
Hi, I tried to email you at that address, but it didnt go through. Here is a copy of the email:

Hi, I saw your message on an ancestry.com message board concerning your Blackfoot Indian Family line. Where are your Hull's from? I located my g-g grandfather (Alexander Hull) on the census in Cape Girardeau, MO records for the late 1800's. He is listed along w/my g-grandma and the other kids (I think the wife died by then); anyway, strangely, his father is listed as being from France (this is very confusing). Alexander, however, is listed as being born in Kentucky. It is common knowledge in our family that he was full blooded black-foot Indian. I have a picture of him w/my ggrandma/sis, and he is clearly Indian (w/moccasins and all). What is the background of your "Hull" family and where does the black foot indian come in? Thanks!

Information is very scarce if non-existent.

I was able to finally find her listed in the 1900 cenus and she was 101 then.

I calculated that she was born in Nov. (?) 1788(plus or minus one year). I was thrilled when I located this record but it may be the only record that exists; since MO's 1890 records were destroyed in a fire.

Early on I tracked a Blackfoot Taylor in the New Madrid area of MO but I am not sure if this is the same person since I don't know if Taylor is a maiden name or a married name.

Good Luck.

While searching for information on my family, I found two Rosa Taylors. One, Rosa Ann Taylor, was born about 1836 and is listed on the 1860 census for Duck Creek in Stoddard County, MO. She was listed as being 24, an Elisha listed as 21, and Philip Taylor listed as being 6/12.

The other Rosa Taylor was listed with a John Taylor, age 50, and Elizabeth Taylor, age 45, and a Susan Taylor age 21. Rosa was listed as 19 years old. They were listed on the 1860 census records as living in Fabius, MO in Marion County, MO. I hope this helps, but if it is wrong, could you give a timeline for this couple?

Jane

I don't know if they are connected to the Taylors (but there is another Blkfoot Indian thread on here that mentions "Taylors"). Well, I hope you find more info; and I want more info on my Hull line of family, too!

My information from family members relates that my great grand parents, Dudley & Susan Pryor Branham, were released from slavery near Columbia Missouri,a small town called called Rocheport.

They were husband and wife. The story passed on stated that their owner gave them a horse,a buggy, and Dudly's little half-white brother,Edward Orear.

I have not been able to document anything except Ed. moved to St. Charles, MO.and married Jennie Vaughn, which there is a record.

I can not find a record of their marriage. They had 7 children, of which my grandmother was one. They lived in Montgomery City, Missouri.

Susan Pryor Branham was the sister of Richard Pryor's ggf.
Her two brothers left Missouri and went to Illinois.

Freda English Acuff
Saint Peters, MO.
frd.acuff@gmail.com

I am in possession of a 8x10 picture of my ggggrandmother's picture. Clearly, hand written on the bottom is: TAYLOR, BLACKFOOT, DIED AGE 130. This picture was given to me by my maternal grandmother, who was raised in New London, Ralls County, Missouri. Her maiden name was Georgia Steward and her parents were William and Caroline Steward. This is all I know for sure.

I am looking for any information that will help me locate this line of my family. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am trying to find out more about this black family that was first found in Marion, County, Missouri on the 1870 census as Jack and Charlotte Estin. The common spelling now is Eston. I mainly want to know who were their owners in Missouri and in North Carolina where they came from. I have reson to believe that Jack was a part of the Joshua Taylor Plantation located in Rutherford County, North Carolina.

Sherwood A. Adams - Missouri CSA Surgeon veteran,

I am trying to acquire any information available on a Missouri Civil War veteran, CSA Surgeon Sherwood A. Adams. He was a surgeon during the war and later practised medicine in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I would like to also find out ‘where he died and is buried’. If in Australia, I would like to add him to the Australian Veterans Memorial website, www.acwv.info; and add him to a book I am working on, ‘Australian Confederates – From or Buried in Australia and New Zealand’. So far I have documented 62 Confederate veterans.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I grew up in Pinhook Missouri. I lived there from 1966-1987. My mother lived there until a few years ago.

I don't know of anyone with the last name of Sanders, however, there are still people who live there who may know of the people you are referring to. If you like, I will inquire from the families. There are two families who I believe have been there since the 1950s, The Robinson family and the Williams Family.

If you have a little more information, please send it to me at ja_anita@yahoo.com
My name is Anita Nance (Jarman).
