There is a good possibility your Muggah family is from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and specifically from the Sydney area. Check the web site of Ross Muggah which can be found at URL http://fox.nstn.ca/~catman/muggah/surnames.htm . The Muggahs of this area descend from John Muggah (c.1760-1826), a native of Scotland who settled in Cape Breton, and his wife Ann Meloney (1776-1830). Good luck.

I'm a ggg grandaughter of Julie Ann Muggah Davies. I'm looking into family history in particular Stephen J. Davies parents in Wales. I have quite a bit of information on his life in LA. My grandfather was Julie Ann's son David Davies, who moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1902. Any information on any of the family: Robbins, Davies, or Muggah would be appreciated.

Dear Cousin,
My great-great grandmother was also Julia Ann Muggah Davies. She was first married to Stephen Josephus Davies, a Methodist minister originally from Wales. They owned a plantation, Glen Orange-so named for the orange grove, on Avoca Island near Morgan City. Stephen was murdered in New Orleans during the Civil War and Julia married the overseer, Henry Waggoneer. My great grandfather, David Muggah Davies, was her youngest child. My grandmother, Mary Elvira Davies Firmature, died in 1998.
Yours truly,
Mary Lynne Firmature Soileau

Then we are all also cousins. Ironically enough, my ex-sister-in-law was the former Dana Schexnayder, whose father lived in New Iberia. My great-great-grandmother was Julia Muggah Davies and my great-grandfather was David Davies. If you would like to email me, it is: Escape2MS@yahoo.com.
