Hello All,

Many civil servants and military personnel sent their children (mainly sons) back to the UK to be educated. There must have been a fairly well established system as there were tens of thousands of children over the years.

What schoold did they go to?

Many of them must have died at school or in transit. Did any write letters home? Or receive letters from their loved ones?

For many, a third of their lives is totally unaccounted for - where were they?

I am particularly interested in the schools that catered for sons of those working for the East India Company or sons of military personnel. Madras Army for preference, but Bengal and Bombay are also of interest.

There were a lot of children over the years - there must be some records.

Thanks
