hi guys, run into a big brick wall with this one! i have been trying to work it out but had no luck :(
William Rosewell born in 1844 in saint vincent, moved to sydney australia in 1869, married Margeret O'Niell in 1871, died 1906. i have found his father was William Rosewell born in saint Thomas, and think his mother was Mary Cunningham (1828 – 1876) but on all her records there is nothing on her going to the virgin islands and there is nothing else on him (will SNR) not sure how to get around this.... ANY help would be grately app, thanks

Perhaps you might get more help if you posted on a board dealing with the Caribbean? Or is there something connecting your people with the East India Company (British India). which you have not mentioned?

hi halpark, thanks for the reply.
im on to the understanding that the line on tracing started in india or sri lanka. so was thinking that they could of been apart of the east india trading as either slaving or plantations... really not sure lol. the rosewell name is most likely english so im thinking maybe there was an english man and indian women that had a child? i have photos of some of the desendants and they really do look sri lankan or indian- nothing at all like "caribbean", im so confused :(
