Indiamen Sailing from UK

In 1898, Temple found a list of Indiamen leaving London in 1668. I should like to find a similar list of Indiamen departing from the UK in 1674-76. I assume that this information is held at the British Library. Can anyone tell me which documents I need to consult, please?

There could be some mistake here. An "Indiaman" was a large ship used in trade between America or Europe and the "East" (India) as opposed to an "East Indiaman" which was associated specifically with the East India Company. However, the word "Indiaman" was first used in 1709 (Merriam and the Shorter Oxford). These dictionaries are usually pretty accurate so if anyone had made a list using this word in 1668 the first use of the word would have to be much earlier than 1709. Have you actually seen the list?

Thank you for your response.

Apologies, it was my mistake using the term "Indiamen". Temple just lists ship "for the Coast and Bay" departing from England in 1668. Unfortunately, he does not give his source.

I have, since my post, checked Temple's list against that in the appendix to Farrington's "Catalogue of East India Company Ships' Journals and Logs 1600-1834". That comparison throws no light on where Temple may have found his information.
