Others should be aware that FTDNA discovered that DYS464 can have more than 6 alleles. It is not clear how they can detect them accurately. Nonetheless, the results may not be compatible with earlier results, which tended to force them into the 4-allele or, secondarily, the 6-allele template. I have seen one family with 6,7 and 8-alleles at DYS464.

For those who are R-M269 derived (old R1b) with such results, it is a good idea to take the DYD464X test.
