Hi,
With professional help from an expert genealogist, it was discovered that my father's Y-DNA 46 kit was switched with another ancestry member. The daughter of the other Y-DNA participant and I have been working together for over a year to try to get this sorted out. We speculated several times over that period of time about "wouldn't it be funny if our dad's kits were switched!". Well, they were. :(
Once we were informed what had happened, I contacted ancestry via phone, and was told "this would take several departments working together to sort this out", but have heard nothing since. We are not willing to wait for them, and are moving ahead on our own.
I just read the message re "Can ancestry.com provide a new way of searching through too many DNA matches?", and am wondering if that would help us salvage matches, etc, before Y-DNA is completely ended here in September. I am not currently using Chrome, but would do so if it would facilitate the process of exchanging matches, email contacts, etc.
Any input greatly appreciate.
Thank you.
