Announcing the Manley/Manly DNA Family Tree project!
Cathy Manly Sockol& Alan Manley have begun a DNA family tree project for the purpose of researching, reconstructing and retracing the Manley/Manly family lines. This is an exciting project which will provide answers by using the "Y" chromosome of the male descendants of these lines. This will enable us to compare those markers for descendants from the world over, find common ancestors for the lines and determine how many generations back any common ancestor was. This, in conjuction with the good, old fashioned method of records research will break down those brick walls we all seem to keep running into!
We have established a site for the project, listing the lines, locations and dates (where possible) who have already joined the project to date. If you would like to visit the site it is @
http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~chatsolWe will update the site as new members join and test results are provided by the lab.
Since we know that many of the American colonial Manleys/Manlys originated in England (many sources site Cheshire & Devon) we would love to have some project members from that area join us in this effort. This will also prove beneficial to those researching in England, Australia, Wales, Ireland and Scotland re-trace the migrations their ancestors took.
Using science and technology to back up documented geneaolgy and break through those stubborn brick walls~
