This is a new project and is for all people with ancestors from the ancient English kingdom of Wessex i.e. the area where the Wessex dialect was spoken. This now covers the area of the modern English counties of Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire, and Oxfordshire.
