I have the genetic marker K1a. Does anyone else? Celeste

Where on your report does it tell you the genetic marker? What type of DNA test did you take? I did the new one offered in ancestry so I was just told which regions my DNA groups showed up in.
|
Mine was with another company that did give markers. Mine would be Ashkenazi Jews, Kurdish, or Druze. If anyone else has this in their background, please contact me.

Yes I have the the K1a on my maternal side.

Mine is K1, which is similar to yours!

I have learned since I wrote that I am K1a26. Thanks. Celeste

My husband is K1a-T195C! He received the HVR1, HVR2, and full sequence at FTDNA.
He has "extras" that don't really put him in the K1a group, but his extras also exclude him from other subclades of K1a.
But K1a is close. His most distant matrilineal ancestor was, we believe, Pennsylvania German.

I am K1a26. My grandmother's family goes back to England, but I do not know before that.
