I just received my Ancestry.com DNA results. I'd been told my entire life my great grandmother was Chippewa Indian. The DNA results came back with no Indian DNA at all. Then I was told by a friend that if the g-grandmother was Chippewa from her paternal side it would not show up because of the mitochondrial DNA, is this true? I do not know which side the Chippewa supposed came from on her, but is there still a possibility I have Chippewa in me and it is not showing up?
