I'm really confused about this.
I have a second cousin who I am connected to through her maternal grandfather. My paternal grandmother was her grandfather's sister.

She just had her Mt-DNA done at FTMDNA and I match her there
at the second cousin level.
I thought this would test through her all female line of her mother and I'm not in any way connected to that.
what am I missing?
I've read online endlessly and it just seems to me that I would have to be part of her all female line to connect to her on this test.
