Anyone a match with H 83? Not a lot of info on my subclade, apparently rare. Did have 4 matches on Family Tree DNA, but haven't contacted them.

I'm H83 and consulted an expert in the field. The haplogroup tends to be isolated to county Kerry (400+yrs ago). And that's where my maternal ancestor was born, so I guess they stayed put for 100's of years until they left in the 1840's.

Surnames: Erbland, Cox
My mtDNA haplogroup is H83. My oldest known matrilineal ancestor is May Cox, born abt 1801 in the Wateringbury area of Kent, England.

Yes I just matched on H 83 on my maternal line, which is from Carchiveen, County Kerry Ireland.
