Just wanted to pipe in and share my results.

My maternal grandfather's parents were from the Naples region. I have traced both lineages back to the 1600s - all ancestors remained within the Avellino and Benevento region, save for one who moved there from Spain in the early 1600s.

My AncestryDNA results are:
Scandinavian 76% (no doubt from my father's and maternal grandmother's German/UK/Dutch roots)
Middle Eastern 18%
Uncertain 6%

I plan to have my maternal grandfather tested. Hopefully it'll give me a better picture of his DNA.
