This is much the way that I felt, while trying to understand and seeking direction concerning my mtDNA test, from Family Tree-DNA, during the early days.

I still am awaiting my 'autosomal' results from Ancestry, but have come to understand that there is no perfect processing point or nexus of interpretation, for the data bequeathed to us by our forebears.

Also, my father has tested with 23andMe, but we will not be paying to upload his data to FTDNA. Gedmatch.com is a wonderful resource - and further dollars will be contributed there.
