At 23andMe, my father's Ancestry Painting is depicted as "100% European." I've been able to glean some various and deeper details of his genetic make-up through utilizing the oracles shared with and by Gedmatch.com. Might it be that 23andMe is hoping to avoid the controversy (ridicule) being heaped upon Ancestry, as this company attempts to decypher our geographic roots?

I only received my results last night, but read - was informed, by Ancestry - that my genetic 'map' may be fine-tuned in the future, as data are received and interpreted. Like my dad, I am "100% European," with a personal breakdown here to 60% Scandanavian (knew that one was coming!), 28% British Isles and 12% Southern European. As I have no documented ancestors hailing from the latter, it would be a wonderful event should these geographic origins be gathered into a properly translated timeframe. The devils may lurk in the details, however.
