Anything can help, I must admit I found a 1st cousin that I never we never knew we had. His tree had not hints. But he had his birth mother's last name the address he was born in about 40 miles from where my grandparents lived then. I already had several cousins & matches on both sides of my family. I had him look for matches with dad's fathers family bingo he matched 2 cousins. Then I had him look for 2 matches on my dad's grandmothers family. (I had found these prior to my DNA test also). He matched them both. Since then we have figured out possibly his mother's father, 3 uncles. See an uncle was the first match for me and my research on him. One young man buried in the county by the same last name. One in high school in the county. Nothing on who the father is, no one from that generation around to tell us.
Now the tougher is my husband who was also adopted. No information and no BC on file in his home state!?! Wish more opened up their trees, lots of farther up hints but with NO NAMES. I spend my wheels. Hard to build from 6th to 8th down.
