Blaine Betting has a link to his shared segment project or whatever it is where he gathered stats from people with known relationships. I have only one pair of 1C1R who are 2nd cousins to each other, they share 152.7cM total, 40.4cM largest segment and 7 segments.

Thanks for sharing that info, do you happen to know what these 1st cousins once removed share with each other? I ask because i suspect this predicted '2nd cousin' on here is actually a 1st cousin once removed to me. Per gedmatch we share 327.1 total cm, 50.3 largest segment, and we share on 11 segments, predicted 2.7 gen to mrca.

I uploaded their raw data to GEDmatch and they get the following on 7 segments:

Largest segment = 40.4 cM
Total of segments > 7 cM = 152.7 cM
Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 3.3

Only one of them tested with Ancestry, the other on 23andme. And these two are 2nd cousins to each other, but both 1C1R to me.

Thank you! So how much do you share with them since they are 1c1r to you? (I am comparing with my possible 1c1r)

So I had other 1st cousins tested and uploaded all raw data to GEDmatch.com. So that chart (link above) shows us 1st cousins compared to the 1C1R. The last row is what I already mentioned how these 1C1R compare to each other.

My kit is F285846 and you will see I have tons of cousins up there.

Thank you for sharing that with me, my 2nd cousin (potential and hopeful 1c1r) seems like we share lower than yours. I def think we're once removed as he was born in the 50's like my mom (he was born in 52 and she was Almost born in 1960) November '59..

By the way, I found out that my cousins (who are 2C to each other) tend to share in the lower range. So if you're saying lower, who knows really. I was just talking to someone else about how my mother's best match (which I mention in my blog) shared largest segment 50cM. That seemed like it would be close, but it was not as close as I thought, plus the match is a half cousin to us.

And yet, I didn't realize it until tonight, that my mother gave about the same exact segment to my brother (48cM but that could be just different testing companies) whereas I got only 14cM of that 50cM. So big difference! So you'll never know. It's hard to say. This is why I say to research further back to be sure.

Thanks, wow, yes you're right . I will need to take a step back i guess, perhaps one of my matches' cousins isn't my dad, the numbers are off a bit, although he might just share less than typical, but overall i may be getting further into it than i should ..
