I am a male direct descendant and I am trying to solve my brick wall and was wondering if dna tests might help. My great-great grandfather was either a Lemieux or Lemire (see also variant spellings) but I have not been able to definitively connect him to one surname or the other using traditional "paper" records. Would a form of dna testing be worthwhile or has the science not really gotten there yet as far as this type of question. Thanks in advance for any advice.
