Hello!
I just recently received my test results from AncestrybyDNA and they are interesting. I am also trying to figure out if the other values are noise or not.
My family comes from Southern Italy, Poland and Ireland. My mother is of Southern Italian descent.
The test indicated I am 100% European, however the test listed what looks like 6% African, 5% Indigenous American and maybe 4% East Asian.
I am trying to figure out if the values for African, East Asian and Native American are "statistical noise" or not. Since I have Southern Italian ancestry and the average mixture for Southern Italians (according to AncestrybyDNA) lists the exact same mixture that I have, same proportions to what I got (although my amounts differ of course) does that confirm that these values are correct and not noise?
Incidentally, my mtDNA haplogroup is K.
