I haven't been on here for very long, but have been on 23andMe and FTDNA for awhile. Most of the time people reply to my queries, and I always return any messages I get - no matter how remote or random the question.

I FINALLY got a closer match (likely 2nd cousin). I have a very unknown Jewish paternal side, so this is a big deal for me. My maternal side is all the UK and this test is only shipped to the US, so it's highly likely this is a paternal patch.

I messaged the person Nov 5, but it's saying that person hasn't been online since October 31st. I've tried clicking through to her profile and re-sending through that interface as well - but I'm unable to do that. It was suggested I tried this because apparently there's been problem with the messaging tool on here.

The person has only recently joined and received their DNA results back. No family tree and the ancestry results aren't shown.

What's people's experience here with people replying?

I'm thinking this person didn't get a notification (or doesn't have it set up) or maybe is doing the test for other reasons.

Gah! I must be patient!
