OK, so I realize that this might be an obvious question, but sometimes I have to be hit over the head with a 2x4 to see something that should be plain as day: If a match shares absolutely ZERO bits on the X then can I safely assign the match to being somewhere along my paternal grandfather's ancestry? In other words, I am a female, and got X from both parents, but my father's X only came from his mother so I would share no X with HIS father, correct?
(This is ultimately important, because the DNA that I am really interested in pursuing comes from my paternal great-grandfather -- he of the no information adoption in the 1870s)
