So hoping to get an opinion from others. So I had my grandmother, my mother, and my DNA tested on Ancestry DNA. Nothing came up Native American (and naturally like every other American I have stories of it that I haven't put much stock in). I saw a couple things on gedmatch but hadn't really looked at it much. I also hadn't found any paper trail, though nearly my entire grandmothers ancestry goes back to the South (though one line goes back to the colonial North through quakers) and many ancestors lived on the frontier in places like Georgia etc that were previous native american land (in some cases only be a decade or so) or bordered, places where I find intermarriage etc.
I had my aunt tested on 23andme and she came up with a very small amount, 0.2%, but at a 75% confidence level of Native American That got me interested into looking further. On gedmatch with my grandmother's DNA that same area and other surrounding areas come up as bigger *potential* Native American segments, not sure though, want some further opinions.
Here is the Eurogenes K=15v2 results for the biggest of segment of these, it comes up a mix of Siberian, South Asian, South East Asian, and Amerindian. All I believe I've heard came come up in Native American segments?
Of further interest I've found two gedmatch dna matches on this segment and triangulated a shared ancestral couple on each (one my grandma shares a lot of other DNA matches with). They were married and lived early on in Georgia areas that were attacked by Native Americans (a local history of the area details some of these specifically where on two occasions they fled to the woods), in some of these same areas (around Jackson County around 1810) I've had other ancestral lines (on my grandfather's side) have records of intermarrying with Native Americans, so nothing definitive of course but found it interesting.
Any thoughts and opinions would be welcome.
