Segment Triangulation

I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. I have 9 people matching me on Chromosome #19 as identified by the new segment triangulation tool. Of these nine matches, two people match on the X chromosome and 7 do not. My assumption going in was that since two matched on X it most be from my mother's side of the tree - since I (male) can only get my X from my mother. MRCA for these matches are between 5 and 6.

I contacted the nine matches via e-mail. Three have responded, but I haven't figured out the any connection yet.

One respondent said that the person I am matching with was born in Germany. This might make sense for what I know of my father's side but makes no sense for my mothers side.

So my question is was my initial assumption that all these individuals must match on my mother's side correct?

Thanks in advance for any clarification you might be able to provide.
