I think we're back to where I started this thread. One can come up with many hypotheses to explain my husband's results (as you've demonstrated) and so I think it's reasonable to start with looking at the results people have gotten who have known deep Quebec ancestry.

Hopefully there are people out there with such ancestry who would enlighten me.

By the way, my husband's surname is Mainville with variations such as Miville in Quebec.
