So, my Mom received her DNA results this morning and much to our surprise there was not even a trace of German. This has complicated matters since her father is reportedly of German descent (says so on his birth certificate) and I have researched and documented the paternal line back into the 1700's. Does this mean my grandfather's mother had a very quiet love affair? The marriage wasn't a good one, it ended in abandonment and divorce and with matters of the heart, anything is possible, right?
