Are there any Brazilians on Ancestry willing to share their Ethnicity Estimates? I'm very curious to learn more about Brazilian AncestryDNA results. I'm especially interested in seeing anyone's results who's of (partial) African descent. I would greatly appreciate it if you could post your results in this thread or even better if you attach a screenshot of your results (with Trace Regions specified)!

Muito obrigado!

As you may know AncestryDNA updated their Ethnicity Estimate to include a very detailed breakdown of West African ancestry. The only company to do so. I think the results are very fascinating. I've made a previous thread on this site which discusses the results:

I'm trying to find some patterns of African origins for different nationalities, even if the African part is only minor. I've been collecting the results in a spreadsheet after recalculating them so that only the African part of your ancestry is being taken in consideration. This makes for easier comparison with other results.

You can see the averages up till now (scroll down) via this link

Unfortunately I don't have many Brazilian results yet so I think yours would be VERY interesting and also useful for others to compare with. If you happen to have access to other Ethnicity Estimates of fully Brazilians with partial African roots it would be awesome if you could also post those.

Muito obrigado!

I am not Brazilian, but I have DNA cousins in Brazil. Some of them have uploaded their DNA files to GEDmatch and also participate in a Facebook genealogy group to figure things out. Please send me a direct message through Ancestry and I will forward you my email address. Some of my Brazilian DNA cousins have some African DNA. Also, through 23 & Me testing, I have a bit of North African DNA that I think is related to my Southern Euro DNA.

I have DNA cousins who have ancestors from many different Portuguese and Spanish-speaking locations, and also the Caribbean.
