I am in search of my biological father, name unknown and took this test to help eliminate a potential father as he was a specific ethnicity different than my mother.
Well boy did it rule him out, as everyone suspected I have a large amount of british isles but my maternal grandmothers scandanavian dna didn't show up at all? I know for a fact my great-grandfather is danish as he was born there. I am reading that the pie chart is not all that accurate and to look more at that genetic matches.
my breakdown is:
63% british isles
36% eastern european
1% unknown
My first match is a 3rd cousin that I immediately found a surname connection from my maternal grandfathers side, so I know this is my DNA and no mix up in a lab!
But I see many people say that they have 80 pages of cousins and I only have 6 and only the 1 3rd cousin, so I am unsure if I am at another dead end or not.
With being labeled as 63% british aisle there are ALOT of common surnames, but I found some possible cousins with Polish ancestry and that I know there are no Polish ancestors on my mothers side.
Alot to process and go through here, but I am back to square 1.
both potential fathers have now been ruled out by genetic testing so there is obviously a 3rd candidate out there that I literally have zero information on other than a possible first name and a basic age and description...
