She also recommended 23andme, which gives you medical information as well.
Until recently ancestry did not even give us the option of download our raw data, so for me, 23and me was a good choice.
I did the Geno 2.0 test because I wanted to contribute to the National geographic world DNA project, not to get an specific information about my ancestry.
No matter what my DNA reveals I know I am English. I certainly have some Scandinavian DNA but remember, the general consensusis, and this is just from what I have read, is that Viking males did not bring women over to the British Isles, they just stayed and bred with women from Britain.
The Normans were of Viking descent so when William the Conquer came to England he brought many Normans with him so I'm sure that also populated Britain with new Scandinavian blood.
