Understanding common matches with DNA results

I just recently received my DNA results and in checking common matches on a 2nd cousin I clicked on the Maps and Locations link on their tree. I then found the green pins that indicate we share the shared lineage. How do I interpret this? My 2nd cousin's tree shows a green pin on the paternal side of my family in Western Europe and there is a green pin in Eastern Europe that shows shared ancestors on my mother's side. Does this mean we are "double 2nd cousins" ?
