AncestryDNA vs. DIYDodecad

As mentioned in a previous post, my AncestryDNA results were as follows:

76% Scandinavian
18% Middle Eastern
6% Uncertain

This was baffling for me as I'm (in order of percentage) English/Irish/Scottish, Italian, German, French, and Dutch with no ancestors from Scandinavia or the Middle East in my family tree spanning 10-15 generations.

Someone was kind enough to run my raw DNA results with DIYDodecad (which you cannot do if you have a Mac like me). The results I got from DIYDodecad made so much more sense and are more in line with my research. It also helps me understand why Ancestry come to their conclusion with my DNA.

On a more broad analysis using DIYDodecad's dv3, I'm:

42.25% West_European
28.65% Mediterranean
14.50% West_Asian
9.87% East_European
4.09% Southwest_Asian
0.38% Northwest_African
0.12% Neo_African
0.11% South_Asian
0.02% East_African
0.01% Northeast_Asian

Looking deeper, I'm:

15.86% North_Sea
12.14% North_Atlantic
11.87% Iberian (I have an ancestor that came from Spain to Italy in the 1600s which may or may not be who I got the Iberian DNA from)
11.79% Italian
7.61% Central_Euro
5.54% Fennoscandian
5.13% East_Balkan
4.69% French
4.51% East_Med
4.42% Near_Eastern
4.30% East_Central_Euro
3.36% North_Caucasian
2.43% Eastern_Euro
2.12% West_Med
1.65% Basque
1.19% Volga-Ural
1.19% Armenian
0.20% West_Caucasian

I'd recommend those who aren't satisfied with their results from AncestryDNA to run it with DIYDodecad.
